Frequently asked questions
What is BIM?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the use of a shared digital representation of an asset (visual 3D models and structured data) that helps us to plan, design, operate and manage the asset more efficiently, throughout its whole lifecycle. There are three main pillars of BIM to make this happen: People, Processes and Technology.
Why are you called 'The BIM Kitchen'?
The heart of a home is usually in the kitchen, where people end up gathering not only to eat but to have interesting and meaningful conversations. This captures the very essence of our company! We want our community to feel comfortable and willing to have open and honest conversations about BIM, removing any judgement or formality. We also found a likeness from operating in an office with operating in a kitchen; and found that our culinary metaphor makes BIM concepts more accessible, memorable and easy for people to understand.
Can I attend your events even if I'm new to BIM?
Yes! Everyone is welcome at our table, regardless of your BIM knowledge or experience. We believe diverse perspectives strengthen the BIM community and we want to hear from you no matter where you are in your BIM journey!
Do you work with organizations of all sizes?
Yes! Whether you're a small firm just starting to explore BIM or a large organization looking to optimize existing processes, we can tailor our services to your scale and needs. There is no project too small or too big to implement BIM on!
